Broad Street has developed a well-trained team of Care Professionals to provide customized home care services to our clients. Our Care Professionals are true professionals in every sense of the word. Each member of our team brings their individual experiences, strengths and immeasurable depth of care into everything they do in providing support for our clients.
When placing a Care Professional into a client’s home, we strive to match the Care Professional’s experiences and strengths with each individual clients’ need. Equally as important in this match is the Care Professional’s personality and how it will blend with the wishes of the client. Our Nurse Supervisors and Human Resource team are closely familiar with each Care Professional and carefully evaluate each potential placement to assure an appropriate match.
Providing personalized care that involves all of the qualities mentioned above is at the forefront of every placement decision we make. And we at Broad Street feel tremendously fortunate to have a Care Professional who always exceeds our expectations.
Our Care Professionals are, you can say, the face of our company. They are the individuals who have daily interaction not only with our clients but their families as well. This is why each Care Professional is regarded as the most important part of our team. This month, we’d like to highlight one of our Care Professionals who never fails to bring a smile to not only her clients and their families but to the entire team behind her at Broad Street.
Baindu Jusu joined Broad Street as we were growing and establishing our high quality of care. She helped set the standard of what we hope for in every Care Professional. Her boundless energy, dedication to her craft and palpable care is evident to everyone she interacts with.
We slowed Baindu down for a minute to ask her a few questions…
How long have you been working for Broad Street?
I’ve been with Broad Street Home Care for well over 4 years now.
Do you remember your first day with Broad Street? What can you tell us about it?
Yes, it was very friendly and comfortable. The office staff made me feel accepted and very well welcomed.
As a Care Professional, what do you find most rewarding?
Knowing the client and their family is satisfied with my work. That, and all the prayers that I get form them.
What is most challenging aspect about your job?
Getting to understand the client very well. And then understanding the purpose of their behavior. What is it that they really want?
What is the most enjoyable part about working as a Care Professional?
When my client is completely happy and satisfied!
Can you tell us about the importance of communication between you and our clients?
The key for the best communication is I look back at the client’s life and understand what they used to do. What was their life style like? What kind of food they liked, the music they listened to and places they used visit? And I apply that knowledge to my duties as an assignment to the current life if possible!
What is the most important aspect of your job with Broad Street?
Acknowledging my role and position. Maintaining communication with others staff as well as respecting and appreciating them.
What advice can you give to a newly hired Care Professional?
Understand your clients very well and do your best like you are taking care of your family members but with professional manners. Love your job!
If there was one thing you could share with every client, what would it be?
A life full of joy or a life without pain. But the one thing I can share every day is my loyalty
How do you decompress at the end of the day?
Turning my work mode off when I finish my shift and see my family.
